For her Spring Semester of 2023, Sarah Luczak, worked with our Clinical Health Services team and was mentored by CCHD’s Lisa Coakley for her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Capstone Project which was on developing, implementing and evaluating a pre-diabetes educational class series for our residents.

Katelyn Kostakis, Yale university

For her Spring Semester of 2023, Katelyn Kostakis, supervised by Ann Hartman, worked with our Community Health Division to complete an evaluation of the Walk this May Walking Competition for her Masters in Public Health (MPH). Over 30% of program participants responded (n=140) to the survey which has been used to guide the program for 2024.

Kiba Helmbrecht, Central Connecticut State University

In 2019, CCSU bachelor’s candidate in the Digital Film Making and TV Production Program, created the “How Can We Help” outreach video for CCHD.

Adekemi Suleiman, University of Connecticut

In 2018 Adekemi created an educational PowerPoint for the district on the epidemiology and transmission of tick-born diseases and another on sexually transmitted diseases and hepatitis C as part of her Masters in Public Health internship project at CCHD.

Derek Evans & Luis Pantoja, University of Connecticut

For their 2017 Master in Public Health internship project, Derek and Luis worked together to track chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis and hepatitis C in our district and created a an electronic system for managing PD23 and OLC15 data.
